Hi Chris, The large file size transferring will cause network overload. Disabling taskoffload and autotuninglevel will speed up the network performance and solve the network hang issue. Hi niki thanks for answer. Is this a wrong default from Microsoft? Ok 2,5GB Service Pack is large but 48MB is not very large. We have the filecopy problem with different user and different windows 7 workstations and with Windows 7 SP1.Chris

@ Niki Han Then why does it work on the 2003 server? I have the same issue. Two servers side by side connected to the same switch. One will allow me to copy files to the network share, the other will not. The 2008 server will start transferring, and then explorer will hang, and only a very small portion of the file will be transferred if any at all.

hi niki in our environment it was a symantec antivirus problem. we have upgrade to newer symantec antivirusChris
