Hi, 1.Mike Healan’s SpywareInfo has just registered a new name: http://www.spywareinfoforum.info/ .Pls try to open it. (Refer to: What happened to spywareinfo.com? ) I can open the http://www.spywareinfo.com/ in IE, but it seems the domain was registered by other and become an AD site. 2. If you ever use hyperlinks and bookmark to open this site, you need remove the bookmark and rename hosts file to update the connections. I. Click Start, click Run, type %systemroot% \system32\drivers\etc, and then click OK. Note If you are using 64 bit version of Windows, type %systemroot% \SysWOW64\drivers\etc. II. Rename the hosts file to hosts.bak. III. The Operating System will re-create a new hosts file. 3. If it’s slow to open certain websites, I suggest you clear IE temp files: a. Open Internet Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Network and Internet, and then clicking Internet Options. b .Click the General tab, and then click Delete…. c. Select all the check box next to each category of information. d. Click Delete. This could take a while if you have a lot of files and history. (Note: Deleting everything can free hard disk space, solve problems with your web browser, and provide some additional privacy, but it might inconvenience you by removing information you might need on the Internet. For example, you will have to retype passwords that were previously stored on your computer.) 4.If they do not work, pls open Internet Explorer 8 with No Add-ons mode Click the Start button, click All Programs, click Accessories, click System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons). If disabling all add-ons solves the problem, you might want to use Add-on Manager to disable all add-ons and then turn on add-ons only as you need them. This will allow you to figure out which add-on is causing the problem. To open Add-on Manager Pls let know the result. Good luck!

Systems not doing anything accoreding to Task Manager. It will stay that way indefinitely.2. Sorry, can'tsee the hosts file.. is that etcetra, cos if so, don't know where the hosts file resides.3. Web sites are generally opening extremely fast, so don't think I need to clear temp files.4. Oho - ran IE8 with no add-ons and lo and behold, can immediately open http://www.spywareinfo.com/. Hi, According to your tests, it seems that the issue was caused by add-on. Please notice that some add-ons may block certain website for security consideration. You can use the Manage Add-ons tool to determine which add-on is causing the issue.1. Open Internet Explorer 8. 2. Click Tools, and then click Manage Add-ons. 3. On the Show drop-down menu, select All add-ons to display all add-ons that are installed on the computer. 4. For each item in this list, select the add-on, and then click Disable in the Information window. 5. When you have disabled all the items in this list, click OK. 6. Exit and then restart Internet Explorer. 7. If issues do not reoccur, repeat steps 1 through 3. 8. Click Enable for a single add-on. 9. Repeat steps 6 through 8 until you determine which add-on causes errors to occur. After you have used this process to determine which add-on is causing errors, you can disable that add-on. Or, you can uninstall the software that installs the add-on. I also recommend that you contact the software vendor that provided the add-on for additional troubleshooting and support. Regarding your concern of clean temp files, please understand that temp files are used to allow such websites to load more quickly the next time they are visited, but rejecting cookies makes some websites unusable. If some certain website cannot be loaded properly, you can delete the temp files to force the system to check the latest version of the site instead of looking for the temp information. Good luck!
