Windows 7 - Changed admin account name - and passworded it - now i am locked out!
This morning I went to the control panel and changed the name on the administrator account on my Dell Inspiron laptop. I gave the new admin name a password. It was uzzer, it is now Dr. Mauri When windows comes up it shows the new admin account name (Dr. Mauri) - but will not accept my password. I did not make a password key. I know the password is correct. Before I changed the admin account user name, it had no password. Trying to log on with the new name but no password doesn't work. Using the password with the new user name doesn't work. I tried going to a previous restore point. When asked to log in, I used the original user name and the new password and got in - but going back a day in time to a restore point did not change the name of the adminstrator account. HELP please

Hi, It seems that you can got in but with mixed user name and password. Click Start, click Run, type the following command: Control userpasswords2 Press Enter, you will see your current user, change the name of the account name.
