Windows 7 - Change the order of network adaptors (Binding)
Hey We have problem at our site. Our Windows 7 computers are connected on the wireless and wired adaptor, but on the mainpart of the computers, the wireless adaptor is higher on the binding list -> It will use the wireless at all time. I found an 2 year old thread about the same problem, but the solution was changing it manually on each computer (NOT an option for us) Is there a script / GPO something, that I can run so I will rearrange the order ? It is Lenovo laptops, but I refuse to install Access Connection, as it causes more problems that it can solve. Or does the Wireless have an auto setup, so it automatic disconnect if wired is connected, and connects if the wired is removed ?

Of course you can script the Registry settings or use a GP to set Registry settings to achieve this. But it depends on your configuration patterns, how complicated this gets. In my opinion it is only easily possible if you have identical hardware and software installations for quite a lot of laptops. As the settings are dependant on the used network drivers and installed clients/protocols etc. the script work in a heterogenous environment is probably more complicated than the manual setting of this order. Maybe there are software packages, which can switch off the Wireless adpters, if a wired connection exists, only I don't know one. Wolfgang
