Windows 7 - Bug in taskbar - Added toolbar disapear after logoff/logon when height greater than 1 row
Hello,
It seems that a bug is persisting for a while and would have stay another many years !
The problem with added toolbar disapearing after a logoff/logon is still alive. It is kind of not very easy to reproduce. It took me few hours before pointing at the exact problem (at least almost because I still don't know if it is at save time or
load time that the bug really appear). But the result is the same, any added toolbar, whereever it is located, will disapear if the taskbar is higher that one row.
The only workaround I found is to keep the taskbar at its default 1 row size.
I hope to Microsoft will have a fix for 2012 or before if I'm really lucky !!!
Please note that I tried every other registry tricks (policies), group policies from poledit.msc, remove any started app or services other than Microsoft... nothing works... it is a BUG !!! ... A REAL BUG !!! STILL after SP1 !!!

Hi Eric,
After testing several times on my PC, I haven't found the issue. I know it may be kind of not very easy to reproduce. However, have you created a new user account
to check the result? If not, please try it and let me know the result.
Also, you can enable built-in administrator account for testing.

Grrrrr !!! I tested many times and you are right ! It works now and I can't reproduce it.
I'm sure I've done the test with a new user account and the problem was there (at least I was 100% sure 15 minutes ago).
I take a pause for tonight, I do not have time right now but will come back before a week and will tell you more about more test.
But for now, thanks a lot for your help. I can't identify the source of the bug right now but I will... I will mark your answer as good as soon as I found my bug !
Thanks

Hi
I am still experiencing sort-like problems. My win7/32 taskbar layout is not remembered:
I have a two-line taskbar with some tollbars (address, quicklinks, battery-info and languagebar. After each restart the are on a single line, and all some have titles.
Most of the time I hibernte, so it happens to me only after restarts for updates, but there seems to be no way to lock the layout and I have tried my share of things...
