Windows 7 - Buffalo whr-hp-g54 and Netgear wg311t
Had this configuration working in XP sp3, but cannot do it in Windows 7. wg311t is in pci slot and connected to external antenna to receive nearby wireless internet connection. whr-hp-g54 is connected to lan port with the intention of supporting wireless connection to laptop. Any suggestions?

You need a windows 7 device your netgear device is not on the list, and netgear does not provide win 7 drivers.http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-us/default.aspx

Currently the Netgear WG311T is successfully connecting to the AP and provides internet for the desktop. The WHR-HP-G54 is connecting to the desktop via the LAN and is working. The problem is trying to bridge the two so that the desktop continues to get internet access and the WHR-HP-G54 becomes an AP for laptop internet access in the house.

OK why the setup?? Are you using ICS or some third party util??You should just get a wi-fi bridge and use that to extend the wireless network.

Microsoft has decided you are not allowed to bridge to an internet connection! I have tried a similar setup. I do not have broadband so must use a 3g dialup, with 3g router under XP I can bridge to the 3g modem and allow other PCs to connect via one PC to the internet. Under 7 it appears to be impossible, selecting the 3g modem (Internet/WAN) and the wifi (internal network) there is no option to bridge the 2 together. Selecting any other 2 connections does allow a bridge to be created. When will MS provide a patch or work around?
