Windows 7 - 64bit - Problem with Mapped Network Drives
Greetings.! We are trying a mapping to a folder on a server, \\server1\folder$, using Group Policy. The server is not a member of our domain, but it is controlled so that connections may be made to that server from our domain. In a GPO in User Configuration, Preferences, Windows Settings, Drive Maps we create a mapping to that folder on server1. On server1 is created with a user password, and location, we \\server1\folder$, and as user withserver1\user it's password. The action Replace is used and the options "Run in logged-on user's security context" and "Remove this item is no longer When It Applied." are checked. If a computer starts and someone logs on, he gets the mapping without problems, but when they reboot, the connection is restored, but you can't use it and there is asked to give a password. After the command GPUPDATE / FORCE and at the question to re-register and re-login, answer yes, after loggin in again the connection will be restored. Does anyone know what needs to be done to restore the connection always, even after a reboot? All help is welcome. Thanks in advance. With Kind Regards, F. van 't Hoff
