Windows 7 - 64Bit Pro, FTP vs Windows Explorer
Can anybody tell me.. I have this NAS-server running as FTP-server.. When connecting through ftp.exe (both passive and active) everything is okay. When connecting through iexplorer.exe or firefox.exe - everything is okay .. BUT, when Mapping a new networkdrive through explorer.exe i get 'Timeout' (ftp://myExternalIp:port) or (ftp://myExternalIp) I've looking around the Internet and it seems like I'm not the only one having this problem.. Is there a fix for this problem ?, or am i just doing something completely wrong ? Thx in advance

Hi, If you cannot access FTP sites through Explorer windows, ensure a configuration option has not been unchecked. Open IE -> Tools -> Internet Option -> Advance Tab -> scroll down underneath "Browsing" -> check "Enable FTP folder view (outside of Internet Explorer)" After that, please access the FTP-server through Explorer windows again. Hope it helps. Regards, NikiPlease remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
