Windows 7 'Server' services are missing ... ?
Hi All, i am unable to find 'server' service in windows 7. Please help how to enable this. Thanks in advance, Dev

1. Click Start, type ncpa.cpl and press {ENTER} 2. Right-click on the LAN connection, and choose Properties 3. Click Install 4. Select Service, and click Add 5. Hi Ramesh, Thanks for the post. I have tried the above steps, but still i am not able to view server services and also i am unable to view workstation services. Netlogn service show access denied. Please suggest how to get rid of these issue. Thanks, Dev

Hi Dev, Settings for these services are stored in the Windows registry. For the Server service this location is: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver] The corresponding location for the Workstation service is [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanworkstation] Exporting these two keys from another PC running Windows 7 would restore the missing Services.
