Windows 7: Local Area Connection Unidentified Network
So I'm at my girlfriends house and I tried to use my desktop here and for some reason I cannot connect to the internet via the router (ethernet connection). I can connect directly to the modem, and I can connect my laptop (windows) xp to the internet
via wireless & ethernet. After hours of searching and trying a ton of different options (netsh, bonjour disabled, MAC address manually added, disable IPv6, updated the router firmware, etc) I can't seem to find a fix that will work.
Here is my ipconfig:

Is there anything else I should include?

It would appear that you are being assigned an APIPA address, possibly
indicating a DHCP issue. After connecting to her wireless connection,
attempt an
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
from an administrative command prompt. Does she have a system that you
can copy the
ipconfig /all
output from? Is she using any kind of encryption like WEP, WPA, or WPA2?

Hi thanks for replying!
Unfortunately I can't do an ipconfig /release/renew. When I try I get this error:
The operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for this operation.
Here is an ipconfig /all from my laptop, this is all I can really get at unless you want me to use one of her machines to pull the ipconfig /all from:

It might be useful for comparison between your ipconfig /all and her
ipconfig /all. That configuration looks better because you no longer
have an APIPA address, can you ping 192.168.1.1 and www.google.com?

Well that configuration wasn't on the machine that can't connect at all, that was another laptop.

From here, you can probably do a couple of things, you can try
statically assigning an IP address and see if you are able to get out.
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
Description . . . . . . . . . . . : Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
Network Connection
IPv4 Address. . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.10X (need one that is not
in use currently)
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
DHCP Server . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 167.206.251.130
167.206.251.129
You can also try running a capture with netmon to see if the interface
can see any DHCP traffic when you attempt to connect to the wireless
network,
