why can i not use all my ram windows 7 64bit installed 6144MB, hardware reserve 4358MB available to use 1786

Hi, You can use the different slots to test issue. The better option is contacting the manufactory of motherboard. Are you concerned about the "hardware reserved" or the fact that it and available doesnt equal 6 gigs? The "missing" could be for shared video memory, and other processes. Where did you see those figures?
