Windows 7
Yes i had to recently install a clean windows 7 over the previous one after it shutting down and rebooted saying there was not boot mgr installed. I tried to repair but it would only allow reinstall but the problem was that even before it would crash on initial boot giving a BSO then reboot then load windows like nothing had happened. After awhile it would start to just lock up for any reason until a hard boot with it freezing somewhere during the very start before any post bio begins. As long as I had never shut down the computer windows 7 would be fine even if it was restarted but reboot it was another story. On this clean installation it ran flawless even rebooted without fail until i shut it down for the night. Upon initial start it started the same thing where it would boot and BOS right after the starting windows animation only this time it would be so fast i could not see what the BOS was. I haven't even gotten to install any windows updates yet.

Hi, Would you please let me know what is your computer model? Is it supported Windows 7? Where is the installation disk from? What is the BOS mean? Is it Blue Screen? If so, could you boot into Windows 7 successfully again? When starting computer, please keep pressing F8 and select startup repair. Open command prompt and run chkdsk /f /r Also run the Memory Diagnose for testing. It is a custom built PC not known model. The motherboard is MSI K9N2 Nvidia nforce 780a SLI Chipset using and AMD 9950 processor. I ran startup repair and chkdsk /f /r several times with no results. It acts erratically as the computer will boot then blue screen then boot over and over bluescreening each time. I went into msconfig and told it to load all drivers and it booted into windows normally. when i turned it off it rebooted normally at least 2 times until it started blue screening again this time with a ha20x22k.sys problem. I soon found this to be my creative labs x-fi soundcard which is PCIe. I did a search for this file and seen several instances of it on the computer. The computer booted successfully when i disabled the card so I uninstalled the driver and boooted into safemode again to install the driver to which the computer booted into windows with no problem so far. Sorry BOS i meant BSOD.Gerri Menefee
