Windows 7
Hello My girlfriend had that ____ vista operating system in her pc and had so many problems with it so I tried to help her out by installing windows 2000 in it. i discovered afterward that her pc is too new and 2000 would not work. She now has a copy of windows 7 professional. I tried to install it the way operating systems have always been installed by inserting the cd, then restarting, but the installation does not start, so I inserted it after starting the pc then tried to start it in my computer, but get a message that it will not work with the current operating system. Why will it not start and format the hd? Russ

The issue is with the PC (if the DVD is a REAL one and not some ____ download) The device has a DVD drive we assume and you have set the bios to boot to the DVD.

Thanks, I did not think to check that. It was set to boot floppy first, which is bizarre since it does not even have a floppy.
