Windows 7/64 Network Location cannot be reached
I cannot join a laptop to a domain it was previously connected to or access any shares. I have joined multiple domains and wireless networks since being a part of the original domain. I have no problem getting a DHCP address or connecting to Exchange on domain I cannot join. I have tried multiple ways to fix the problem, uninstalling file & print sharing, uninstalling VPN & Air Card Software, uninstalling and reinstalling the NIC with freshly downloaded driver etc. The wired NIC occasionally comes up with one of the wireless network names I had connected to though it is not in range of that network now. I am stumped!

What is the error you get when you try to join the machine to the domain?

Hi, What's the error message? You need to provide more information. Refer to the similar thread here: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-networking/cannot-add-windows-7-pc-to-domain-get-the/f6b8bc13-18b6-4a67-afa5-755d98a51776 In addition, if there's 3rd paryt SMB servers, please open the local security policy and enable "Microsoft Network Client: Send unencrypted password to connect to third-party SMB servers".(Security Settings\Local Policies\Security Options) Regards, MiyaThis posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. | Please remember to click "Mark as Answer" on the post that helps you, and to click "Unmark as Answer" if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Error - The network location cannot be reached. For information about network troubleshooting see Windows Help. No 3rd part servers involved. IP for DNS was set to domain controller & Dhcp with same result. IPV6 unchecked

Thanks for the update. Are there any secuirty settings set by the former DC still running on this laptop? Check if this blocks the connection.
