Windows 7. PPTP VPN problem. Error 619.
Hi, I have a very strange situation with my Windows 7 laptop. - I have several customers, and I can succesfully connect to all their PPTP VPN servers, except for one, in which when trying to connect, I get error 619. - The strange thing is that my flatmate (same network) has a laptop with Windows XP, and I can succesfully connect with it. My coleagues also connect succesfully to this VPN server from their houses. I've done a WireShark Trace, to see the behaviour of the connection attempt. What I can see is that my computer sends "PPP LCP Configuration Requests" of protocol 47 (GRE), and gets no response. I've tried chaging the authetications protocols to PAP, CHAP, MS-CHAP V2 with no success.. Also tried optional encription in the VPN settings. So this problem is driving me nuts, as I can't understand why only this VPN server gives me problems, and why everyone can connect except me. Any ideas?? Thanks..

Hi, This error can occur by incompatible third party programs, incorrect network settings or conflicted driver. I suggest you try the following steps to troubleshoot the issue. 1. Temporarily uninstall firewall or antivirus program on the machine. 2. Upgrade the NIC driver to the latest one. If the issue persists, please bypass the router (if there is) and connect to DSL modem directly for a test. If the issue persists, please also perform the suggestions from the link below: Windows 7 VPN Thanks, Novak
