Windows 7, Wordpad
I noticed a number of improvements to the WordPad application. Support for new file types has been added. The ribbon bar has also been added. It could function as a basic word processor for a new user. However, it is lacking a spell checker. WordPad has lacked a spell checker since it has been around. Given the number of enhancements made to it in Windows 7, would it be very difficult to add the spell checking capability? I think it would make the Windows 7 OS a bit more attractive to a consumer if they did not have to purchase a word processor for simple documents.JPB

JeanPaul -You're right... It would make it easier. BUT... That could cut into Microsoft's other "cash cow" - namely Office sales... Given the popularity of OpenOffice, eh.. They might get around to doing that - if only to stem the tide.At any rate, you can make your request known by posting to the "Have a Comment on Windows 7 RC (part 3)" thread. Posts made there are routinely collected and forwarded to the developers. Note: Since Windows 7 is in it's RC phase - meaning they're working on exterminating bugs and no longer adding new features - it isn't likely to be added in the immediate future. But ideas that have merit will be kept and it may make it into a future release - either Windows 8 or maybe a service pack or even as an add-on to Wordpad itself.
