Windows 7, SP1 Fail, 0X800F081F
Hi there folks I have a bit of an issue here trying to install ServicePack1 to a Samsung RV511 x64 laptop. I've read various things now to try and solve this issue, but none seem to have done the trick. I've downloaded and run the 'system readiness tool' -Windows6.1-KB947821-v10-x64, to no avail. I've ran a sfc /scannow which didn't seem to do anything. I've taken a quick look through the cbs.log and can't see anything abnormal, but I'm no expert. The easiest option, for me, would be a factory reset, and a resoftware of this machine, but that would be the easy way out! We've had many of these Samsungs through the Builds Department now and this is the first one with the issue.

Hi, to see the cause of Windows Vista or Windows 7 update failures, we must look for error messages in the following log files: Please run the Windows Explorer and go to the folder "C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\" and copy all files to your document folder, also copy the setupapi.dev.log from the folder C:\Windows\Inf, the "C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log" and the file "C:\Windows\winsxs\poqexec.log" to your document folder (otherwise you can't upload it), zip all files into 1 ZIP and upload the zip to your SkyDrive [1] and post a link here. Hi Andre Thanks again for the reply. I've already run the tool to remove the release candidate before my original post, although I didn't fully understand at the time that this is what "dism /online /remove-package /packagename:Package_for_KB976932~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.1.17105" did. I can't understand there being not enough space on the HDD; I have ~80GB free space on the 'System' partition. I've run a chkdsk with no bad results. I'll run the HDD thorugh Vivard and check for and bad sectors. I'll try running the RSAT tool and get back to you with the results. Jack

Yes it is NTFS. We do not use RSAT. There was no RC SP1 to remove. I'm completely baffled.

Hi Andre Sorry it's taken so long to get back to you. Things have been rather busy here. Anyhow, no this package wasn't present in C:\Windows\Servicing\Packages folder. The machine in question has left the premises now, there is nothing more that can be done from me.
