Windows 7, Black Screen Problem after Windows Log On.
Ok, here is the problem. I have a dell studio 15, and everything was running well, but recently i have come across a problem. Everything works fine and i can use the computer as normally as i did but after windows starts and i log on, i get a black screen for quiet some time until the desktop starts. I see only a black (system colour) screen and after I wait for a significant amount of time, my wallpaper appears and my icons appear. Is there anyway to fix this problem, it is really annoying to have to wait for so long for my computer to open. I have a Intel Mobility Graphics Card and Windows 7 Home Premium.

Have you recently made any changes to the hardware or the drivers of the system? You might try running the driver verifier to see if it can isolate a particular driver that is misbehaving. Have a look to this link . If this does not help, please try to update all your drivers (especially the graphical card driver) and check if the problem persists or not. ok, i did what you told me but it caused me more problems. Both my cores show that they're running 100% and everything has gone slow. I tried System Restore but even that tells me it failed. idk what to do now. How can i fix this? Please help!! PS i did update the VGA driver, but now i can't get the old one back, it's been updated everywhere.

Please roll back the updated drivers . For your VGA driver, please uninstall it and install it again. What is the error message you found when you tried the system restore? What about the blackscreen? It appears even if you have updated your graphic card driver? This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties or guarantees , and confers no rights.

yes, the black screen is still there. I did uninstall and reinstall the old driver but then nothing changes. I still get the blank screen and the CPU Utilization is still 100%. I downloaded processxp and ran it. System Idle Process is taking up the max CPU and some other program called Trusted Installer. I can't Kill any of them though.
