Windows 7's Action Center working with Microsoft Security Essentials
Windows 7 Action Center does not recognize Microsoft Security Essentials. Is there a fix? What can I do about it?

Hi, I have not had any trouble with it being recognised in any installations I have performed so far. Has the installation been completed to the point that the definitions are up to date and an initial scan has been performed? It this is the case and the MSE icon is green then it should be detected and listed in the Action Center. Would you be able to provide any additional information about the installation. E.g. when you have installed it, acitons you have taken etc. It would make it much easier for us to troubleshoot. CathalCathal O'Brien BSc, PgDip, PhD . Techsmart Computer Repair

If you recently installed MSE, restart the computer? Is it recognized now? As Cathal suggested, please provide more details.

Regarding the issue, this problem should be caused by the following: The Action Center is unable to identify an active anti-virus application. Either there is no anti-virus product installed or it is not recognized Please try the following method to troubleshooting the problem: 1. Verify that an anti-virus product is installed. 2. If an anti-virus product is installed and functioning configure Action Center to stop monitoring anti-virus status.
