Windows 10 new features not installed

I have a Sony VAIO laptop, since I upgraded it form Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, whenever I reboot my computer or it wakes up from sleep mode, I receive a notification indicating, "Windows is installing new features, it will take few minutes",  but after a few minute there is another message, saying "there was a problem and we were not able to install features". I talked with a Windows technician, he ran Windows Safety Scanner (SFC \scannow) on my computer, which resulted in not finding any problem and the error notification is still there.

Is there a solution for that and is there a way I be able to check which additional features are added to my OS by Windows and at what date?

Any help to resolve this issue is greatly appreciated because it is getting very annoying.

Hi,

After reading you problem, you mentioned you have ran the SFC in your computer and havent resolved the issue. I suggest you first update all your drivers in device manger since you have upgraded your system.

Secondly, you need to run DISM command to restore image health.

Then disable the Windows firewall and anti-virus software, if necessary you would better uninstall the anti-virus software temporarily. After that, start the Windows in clean boot mode, and check whether it will install successfully.

Also, you can check the feature in .CBS log which under the path C:\Windows\Logs\CBS . If you are not able to read the log, you can send it to us and we will help you to analyze the reason.

Wish you can troubleshoot the issue smoothly.

Best Regards

Simon
