Windows: You need to format the disk in driver I: before you can use it
Hi, I connect a mobile harddrive to my computer and stores lots of important data in it. However, in this week I got Windows system prompt "you need to format the disk in driver I: before you can use it. Do you want to format it?" message and asked for my confirmation. Screenshot: http://public.blu.livefilestore.com/y1pmXSxUSwrOryEkoI-poEO__SLB3ulJUj5a_3X8F9xvN1iIaWO0KG2F3CvKM9QkBKjlnWWE2gZ57VfUlkNnrTE0g/danger_format_mobile_HDD.jpg I see this action as very dangerous since it could cause me to loose all data on that disk and perhaps this format is unrecoverable. Could anyone tell me why this happens, and how can I turn off this message permanently? Thanks, Bob

Check the disk to make sure the cables are attached correctly. See if you can recognize the drive on another machine. If you format the disk, data will be lost permanently. Dear Vegan, Is there any configuration of Windows (in Control Panel, Computer Management, etc.) to permanent disable this message? Bob
