Windows7 Pro 64bit, sharing printer to Windows XP pro 32bit
I have a brand new install of Windows 7 pro 64b and have shared out a HP laserjet printer to the network. The other clients are XP pro 32bit. In the printer properties on the windows 7 I have attempted to load additional drivers, ie xp drivers both 32 and 64 bit, but keep getting an error that drive doesn't match the architecture. What is the correct procedure for getting 32 bit OS to be able to print to a printer on a 64 bit OS?

The easiest way is to connect the printer to your router via ethernet and access it from all computers that way. I gave up on sharing from computer to computer a long time ago because of all kinds of problems that pop up when you do it that way.

Hi, I would like to suggest you try to download and install the printer driver from HP website directly on Windows XP. After that, you may refer to the following link for how to share a printer: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Share-a-printer Regards, Arthur Li - MSFT
