Windows-speech-recognition enable dictation scratch pad not working
After using Vista from day one and MS speech recognition by dictating anywhere I was very unpleasant surprised after installing System 7 to find a dictation scratchpad now that does not seem to work for me at all. I follow all the instruction, start the programI want to use and enabled the function to use the scratchpad but when speaking in to my headset nothing is happening. The only response I get is a What was that No scratchpad or anything. My upgrade was from Vista Ultimate After looking at some forums I found out that I am not the only one with this problem, however no fix so far. Any help regarding this issue would be much appreciated.

Wow, about nine months and no response. BothFly if you are still monitoring this, please let me know if you have found a work-around. I'm wondering if I need to shell out the money for Nuance Dragon Naturally Speaking. Nuance doesn't offer a trial version, so I'm afraid of spending hundreds of dollars on something that doesn't work. WSR just does not work with non-MS products like Evernote, which I use throughout the day, every day. It doesn't work with Web forms on Chrome. Occasionally it will work with Gmail in Chrome, but rarely and I can't determine a pattern to help figure out why it sometimes works. I would rather not switch back to MSIE as my primary browser, but to relieve my RSI, I suppose it is worth it. But that still leaves many non-MS applications that I need to use, which will not work with WSR. All they need to do is allow me to fire up the dictation scratchpad manually. I'm hoping that there are third-party add-ons to WSR that give this functionality, but I've not found any yet.
