The first time I had this problem was with build 6801 a while ago. Now it is the second time in beta 7000.I searched the web for solutions, but with no success. Here is the problem:Every time I try to get to my "Network-Properties" of any of my wireless-lan profiles (no matter from which menu - e.g. l-click at the wireless-symbol at the tastbar, r-click at a connection, properties. ) windows explorer stops working and I get the message: "Windows-Explorer funktioniert nicht mehr" (in english: "Windows-Explorer has stopped working") and a moment later die WE restarts. No properties-men at all, just this hang-ups.The error-log says:Name der fehlerhaften Anwendung: Explorer.EXE, Version: 6.1.7000.0, Zeitstempel: 0x494324eaName des fehlerhaften Moduls: KERNELBASE.dll, Version: 6.1.7000.0, Zeitstempel: 0x49434801Ausnahmecode: 0xc0000017Fehleroffset: 0x000000000000ab7dID des fehlerhaften Prozesses: 0x9b8Startzeit der fehlerhaften Anwendung: 0x01c99a463a25cabaPfad der fehlerhaften Anwendung: C:\Windows\Explorer.EXEPfad des fehlerhaften Moduls: C:\Windows\system32\KERNELBASE.dllBerichtskennung: a5dd443a-063f-11de-a918-0018f3ce97e1And that's it!Just found a dozend other people at the web having the same problem with no solution.Does anybody know how to fix it without having to reinstall the whole system?Bye bye!P.S.: Sorry for my bad english! ;-)

Hi, I suggest that you boot in Clean Boot Mode to narrow down the root cause. Clean boot=================Lets disable all startup items and third party services when booting. This method will help us determine if this issue is caused by a loading program or service. Please perform the following steps: 1. Click the Start Button type "msconfig" (without quotation marks) in the Start Search box, and then press Enter. Note: If prompted, please click Continue on the User Account Control (UAC) window.2. Click the "Services" tab, check the "Hide All Microsoft Services" box and click "Disable All" (if it is not gray). 3. Click the "Startup" tab, click "Disable All" and click "OK". Then, restart the computer. When the "System Configuration Utility" window appears, please check the "Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utility when Windows starts" box and click OK. Please test this issue in the Clean Boot environment, if the issue disappears in the Clean Boot environment, we can use a 50/50 approach to quickly narrow down which entry is causing the issue. If the issue persists, I suggest that you remove the network adapter driver, and then delete the wireless connection by selecting and pressing Ctrl+D. Then, try to download the latest driver for the adapter, reinstall the driver and recreate the connection. Arthur Xie - MSFT

Hi,By the error:Pfad des fehlerhaften Moduls: C:\Windows\system32\KERNELBASE.dllI assume that the error is comming because of a conflict with a module of the kernel.Try doing what "Arthur Xie" suggest to you and if you still having the problem them try:1.- To configure the network devices by booting in safe mode with networking.2.- Configure the network devices is by using the command prompt.3.- Disable one of the network devices and try to figure out if it's one the network devices that if causing the problem.4.- Update the Drivers or install any software of the vendor that help you manage your network devices.Good luck!!!Regards,

I am having a similar problem to the OP with Win7 RC 7100 on my dell vostro 1500. On start up I get the animated blue circle on the empty wireless bars in the bottom right notification area. after which the icon changes to no connection red cross and I am unable to connect to a wireless network. When I click on anything to do with networking via control panel or the bottom right notification area Windows Explorer crashes and restarts. Most of the time a error message stating Windows Explorer has stopped working flashes on the screen even if I just mouse over the icon for network connections on the bottom. The error seems to flash really quick and explorer restarts. I am able to connect to the internet using a Ethernet cable directly to my laptop but the icon at the bottom does not change and explorer still crashes if i mouse over it or click it. This problem started last night after the laptop crashed and restarted. I disabled all start up items and third party services when booting but it did not solve the problem. I have tried a system restore to two different points in the past when i did not have this problem and the issues persists. I know the net still works but having to connect a laptop using a cable defeats the purpose of a laptop... any help would be greatly appreciated. Regards Ishan

Just a quick update disabling the Dell 1505 802.11n WLAN in safe mode and restarting gets rid of the problem where explorer crashes when i mouse over the icon at the bottom right notification area. On re-enabling the WLAN card i no longer get the error but it doesn't detect any networks. right clicking the icon brings up troubleshoot and open network and sharing center. In the Network and sharing center if i click on connect to a network it does nothing.... in case your wondering ...yes the little switch on the side for the WLAN card is flipped on and i see the Wifi indicator next to my power indicator lit up aswell. However the light next to the switch "Dell Wi-Fi Catcher Network Locator light " has a little radio tower icon next to it is not lit up. Dell manual says this means no signal is found...
