Hi,1. What changes did you make to the computer recently?2. Did you install any new application or Windows updates?Method 1.If this issue started occurring recently you can restore the computer to a previous state.Refer:How to restore Windows XP to a previous statehttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/306084Method 2.Try changing the drive letters and then check if that helps us in resolving the issue.Refer:How to change drive letter assignments in Windows XPhttp://support.microsoft.com/kb/307844Method 3.a. Click on Start and then Run.b. Type in as regedit and click on ok.You will get a popup window as Registry.c. Click on + sign at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.d. Click on + sign at SYSTEM.e. Click on + sign at CurrentControlSet.f. Click on + sign at Control.g. Click on Windows.Can you see ErrorMode key on the right side panel?0X00000000(0)e.
