Window Vista missing after Window 7 installation
I have this problem where I have finished installing window 7. But supposedly, it will give me an option to choose whether should I boot window 7 or window vista but it seem that it will go straight to boot window 7. I have checked my hard disk, there is a partition on window vista left and all files are there but it seem that I cant boot back to window vista. So how do I solve it?

Hi Sha_Dan,That is strange. Usually if you already have Vista installed and then install Windows 7 onto another partition you create a dual boot system and the BCD file is updated accordingly. When you next boot yuor PC a menu should appear giving you the option to boot into either Vista or Windows 7.Insert the Windows Vista or Windows 7 DVD into your DVD drive and reboot and use the 'Startup Repair' option (See this link from my website: http://www.winuser.co.uk/windows_vista_faq/20_vista_dvd_repair_your_computer_options.htmland see if that cures the problem. If it doesn't then you can download EasyBCD (free) http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1and use the 'Add/Remove Entries' tab to Add Vista to the boot menu.

Steps John provided should help on the issue.
Here is the default steps which you can have a test if you are not willing to use a third party tool:
In Start --- Search, input CMD, right it as Administrator.
Run following commands:
Bcdedit /copy {current} /d "Windows Vista"
Note: "Windows Vista" can be changed to any words you like to show in the boot menu.
Bcdedit /set {new identifier} device partition=d:
Bcdedit /set {new identifier} osdevice partition=d:
Note: D: is the partition which Windows Vista installed. If it is Drive C, just change to c:.
Hope these help.
