Window Live Messenger on Windows 7 does not remember my credentials
Hi I have the latest live messenger installed on a clean install of windows 7. One day a crash happened when I was shutting down my PC but the PC turned on later just fine and it shuts down just fine. It was just a random rare crash but since that time I noticed out that Windows live messenger does not remember my username and password every time I restart my machine. Moreover the options "remember me", "remember my password", "Sign me in automatically" are not there anymore. They have disappeared completely!!! How can I get Messenger the way it was before (i.e. get these options back and that messenger remembers me again all the time)Maged

The safest and simplest way would be to uninstall Live Messenger from Programs and Features, restart the computer and then reinstall Live messenger from scratch..

Hi magoood, Please install the latest version of Windows Live Messenger HERE. Please also click the arrow button besides "Sign in as" to expand the sign in options. If the issue persists, please go to the following registry key and see if the following registry key value is correct: HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-####....\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders Note: There are 2 keys under HKEY_USERS that start with S-1-5-21-###....., choose the key that does not have "CLASSES" at the end. Check if AppData value is %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming Also, here is a third party fix tool found from the internet. Please Note: The third-party product discussed here is manufactured by a company that is independent of Microsoft. We make no warranty, implied or otherwise, regarding this product's performance or reliability. If the issue persists, it is recommended contacting Windows Live Messenger's support teamdirectly for more troubleshooting suggestions. Hope this helps. Regards, Linda
