I have added Windows Desktop Search: Add-in for Files on MS Networks to a Win 7 Pro 32bit SP1 (AD Networked) PC. The add-in allows you to index and search UNC pathed network drives for files right from the Start button menu. This works great and returns files as expected, but when you click on the resultant files from the network, they fail to open and you get "The filename, directory name, or volume lable syntax is incorrect". If you click on a file from a local drive it opens fine. If you click on the see more results or the drive letter dividers between the file results it opens a new window. The files open from the new window just fine. It is just annoying to have the extra clicks every time I search. Thanks in advance, Jeff

You can consider to map the network location and make it available offline. Does this offline solution require local disk space equal to the network space you are indexing? For example, if I have 100Gb of pdfs on the network do I have to have 100Gb free on my local drive for the offline copy?
