Window 7 & 2003 domain controller
Dear All, Anyone has issues like myself. We have hundred PC (running XP) joined to domain controller 2003, works very smoothly. But now we're planning to upgrade our PC to Window 7 But the issue are: After join Window 7 to 2003 domain, after few times restarts window7 machine then all service can not startup ( DHCP, Diagnostic Policy.., ...... if you try to restart manually then "Access Denied")---> machine can not get DHCP info (IP add, DNS,....)--> can not login to domain account To resolve this kind of issue: we have to add "Local Service + Network Service" to local Administrator Group then it works Anybody can help Thanks in advanced

Hi, First, I would like to confirm the following questions: 1. Does the issue occur on certain Windows 7 machine or each Windows 7 machine? 2. Is the user account a limited account or an administrator in the domain? 3. Do you set any group policy in the domain? To join a Windows 7 machine in domain, it’s highly recommended to create exclusive GPOs for Win 7 machines only. You may refer to How to deploy group policy using Windows Vista: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc766208(WS.10).aspx Thanks, Novak

Dear , 1. Right now, we're under testing period adn we have tried 2 machines ( but they have the same issue) 2. We have use the highest domain administrator account to join Winbdow 7 to our current 2003 domain 3. yes, we have some GPO settings ( WSUS, ....) but we have tried in the test lab ( with the same GPO settings) but nothing goes wrong 4. We also try to create window 7 computer account first --> put it under special OU ( block inheritance from upper level) --> join Window 7 to our Domain ( no help any more) 5. After we try to assign Static IP address --> disjoin Window7 --> re-define DHCP on this --> reboot --> it can not get DHCP again ( Diagnostise Policy Service can not run either, if we try to start manually then Access Denied) 6. Try to run "cmd" as Adminitrator ( after Disjoin) --> run ipconfig /renew --> we get Accessed Denied again We're really unsure what things have modified Window 7 permission after it join to our 2003 domain ??????
