Win XP will not connect to all drives on Win 7 PC
I have one PC with XP Media center Edition servicepack 3 and one PC with Win 7 servicepack 1. Connected via Ethernet. Win 7 PC have three drives. I can see all the drives from XP PC, but it is only one of them I have full access to. The security settings and sharing settings for the drives in Win 7 seems to me to be exactly identical. So what can I do to get full access to all drives?

Turn on Network Discovery File and Printer Sharing Password Protected Sharing When you access the Windows 7 computer shares, you will be prompt for user name and password. Please enter the username and password. The user must be one of the Windows 7 users. Then make sure that the user has access of the shared folder. If the issue persists, temporarily disable firewall and check the result. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Thank you for answer. I have tried this and the firewall (Norton) is no problem. Finally, I solved the problem. Win 7 has a strange (look strange to me) behavior according to ownership and right to access folders and files. Even as an administrator you have not automaticly access to all folders and files. So the first thing I did was to take ownership over all folders and files on the drive. Afterwards I was allowed to set rigths for user "Everyone" and share all folders and files. Then I got access to my Win 7 drives from the XP PC without any problem.
