Win XP - Cannot access internet - Network connection is OK
I have a small private network setup connected to a cable internet connection. There are several clients (desktop and laptops) - all running WinXP SP3.All clients are able to connect to the internet with no issues, except for one laptop that is unable to. I have it connected to the network fine, it can access shares and other machines on the network with no problems, but whenever trying to access any web sites simply comes up with 'Page cannot be displayed' I have done DNS flush, clear cache, reset IE settings to default, disabled Windows firewall, all with no luck. I have a feeling that it could possibly be some sort of aftermarket software/firewall blocking the connection, but i cannot be certain. Do you have any ideas on what further tests I can do to narrow this down?

I have it connected to the network fine, it can access shares and other machines on the network with no problems, but whenever trying to access any web sites simply comes up with 'Page cannot be displayed'Connected locally doesn't mean it's connected to the Internet. Does ipconfig /all show you a DNS address? Does nslookup show the same addresses? Do the addresses work? E.g. can you do an arbitrary lookup with either of them?If you aren't even getting that far you would probably get more informed help about it in the XP Networking forum.HTHRobert Aldwinckle---

Any chance a mod could move this to a more appropriate section?
