Win 8.1 32bit Startbuttons and menu stop working, as does the whole windows interface.

I have no idea where to ask this question, as the forum doesn't have a support category?

After installing one important and 12 optional updates (The optional updates involved improvements in .NET, I think this was a program, if I recall the description of the update correctly), my windows interface stopped working.

I'm on a laptop, with the combination keys on the keyboard for stuff like volume, mousepad and brightness.

I cannot change the volume or brightness through the fn key, but I can open my calculator through the fn key. I can also switch of the screen, so it has nothing to do with the laptop or the ASUS system itself.

What I can't do:

- Change the volume and brightness through the fn key

- Use the mouse to pop up a menu on the side of the screen (Mouse in corner of the screen does absolutely nothing)

- Use the taskbar. Hovering my mouse over it doesn't light up anything, clicking it doesn't do anything. This includes the windows startbutton, the clock, the pinned icons and opened programs, and the hotbar for volume and internet and that.

- Use the windows key on the keyboard to open the startmenu.

- Use alt key combinations to open things. I cannot use alt+f4, or alt+tab. Ctrl+alt+del does work.

What I can do:

- Every time I hit windows startbutton on my keyboard, the taskbar seems to refresh and for a couple of seconds it seems to work. Hovering over it and clicking on it do the things it's supposed to do. Alt+tab works too during this time. However, after one or two actions or simply like 2 to 10 seconds, it stops working again.

- Use ctrl+alt+del

- Open programs through doubleclicking the icon on the desktop

- Use the programs I opened

- Listen to music on spotify while using google chrome to type up this question.

What I tried:

- I tried to turn my computer on and off (A couple of times).

- Went into ctrl+alt+del and restarted windows explorer. This did the exact same thing as clicking the windows key (Refresh the taskbar, make it work for a few seconds then it all crashes again).

More info:

I'm running windows 8.1, 32 bits system. I have not made any modifications on this. I am on a Dutch windows, though I do not think this should matter, as it's just a language difference (Don't worry about sending me to a Dutch forum/support, my English is proficient enough). I updated my windows through windows updater, installing 1 important update that I don't recall, and 12 optional updates that had something to do with improving the program .NET. After installing, Windows Updater asked me to restart the pc to process the updates. After doing this, it showed me the same screen again, saying that I needed to restart the computer (I did not open it myself, it was already opened). I did this three times total, it kept asking me to restart (Not a popup, just a message and button in the Windows Update program). I then turned off the computer myself through the off button in the start menu and restarted it after a minute. When it had restarted, it started showing the problem with the windows task bar. I am no computer expert, I have no idea what's going on.
