Win 7 x64 Failure configuring windows updates after installs
Since December, following several MS updates, I am unable to install the majority of windows updates. I have 49 that have failed. I get into the loop whereby updates 'seem' like they install, but during the reboot they only go up to 30%, restart, configure up to about 65% and fail, to loop back and try again. After the 2nd failure, it reverts back. I have tried one at a time and different combinations. I also have 2 dll errors happening during every boot now: ojobofax.dll and KBGESP.dll can not be found. I can't find anything about these on the net. Following the advice that worked for someone else in 2010 on an earlier forum, I uninstalled Service Pack MSXML4.0 SP2 and installed MSXML4.0 SP3. That didn't help. I tried to install Hotfix KB947821, but it hung up and wouldn't complete. It is useless to try a system restore because Win 7 won't go back far enough. I have uploaded my CBS Log on SkyDriver at https://cid-0acc2b675a1482ca.office.live.com/browse.aspx/.Documents?wa=wsignin1.0&sa=565286398 I've spent a couple of days on this, and the fact that my laptop was only 6 months old when this happened is really discouraging. I'm not that techy and I'm about to go nutty!!! Can anyone help?cloud watcher

put the CBS files into your public folder. I can't access your private document folder on your SkyDrive."A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Hi Myrna , I got the file. you miss files which are needed for the .Net optimization service: 2011-02-27 04:48:16, Error CSI 000000d0@2011/2/27:12:48:16.758 (F) Failed in StartService for [30]"clr_optimization_v2.0.50727_32" with error code 2[gle=0x80004005] 2011-02-27 04:48:16, Error CSI 000000d1 (F) 80070002 [Warning,Facility=FACILITY_NTWIN32,Code=ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND] #6270# from Windows::COM::NgenOnlineServiceTickler(...)[gle=0x80070002] This causes the Update failure. 2011-02-27 04:48:16, Info CSI 000000d2 End executing advanced installer (sequence 0) Completion status: HRESULT_FROM_WIN32(ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND) Please start the command prompt (cmd.exe) with admin rights [1] and run sfc [2]: sfc.exe /scannow Is it able to find and repair broken files (create the txt file shown under [2] and look if all files are restored)? If not, replace the DLL with the file from your DVD [3]. best regards André [1] http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/How-do-I-run-an-application-once-with-a-full-administrator-access-token [2] http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929833 [3] http://blog.nirsoft.net/2009/09/17/how-to-extract-missing-system-files-from-the-dvd-of-windows-7vista/"A programmer is just a tool which converts caffeine into code" CLIP- Stellvertreter http://www.winvistaside.de/

Thank you SOOO much, André. That did the trick. You have ended 2.5 months of anguish for me. All 49 updates are installed successfully. The sfc scan did wonders! As far as the dll's go - we ended up getting rid of the apps that were pointing to them since we couldn't find anything to substantiate why they were there in the first place. All is well. You have another fan in me. Myrnacloud watcher
