Win 7 x32 dual IP 1 NIC Priority
Recently encountered an issue in a Windows Domain when trying to configure my network card (Broadcom Nextreme 57xx Gigabit Controller) with dual IPs. The need arises from running 2 applications that require different ips. In XP it was just a matter of establishing the primary and secondary ips to corresponding applications. In upgrading to Windows 7 Enterprise SP 1, Build 6.1.1607, I find that this will not hold true. Each of the applications will function normally with it's corresponding IP. So the concern is not a conflict with the OS. When both are entered, the secondary IP seems to assume priority, as the secondary application will work, not the first assigned. Is there a way of assigning a priority to a dual IP (IPv4) configuration?

Perhaps the change to weak host would help to resolve the problem netsh interface ipv4 set interface [InterfaceNameOrIndex] weakhostsend=enabled|disabled netsh interface ipv4 set interface [InterfaceNameOrIndex] weakhostreceive=enabled|disabled netsh interface ipv6 set interface [InterfaceNameOrIndex] weakhostsend=enabled|disabled netsh interface ipv6 set interface [InterfaceNameOrIndex] weakhostreceive=enabled|disabled Regards Milos
