Win 7 ultimate - 64bit SP1 and Outlook 2010 - 32bit won't appear
i'm on a dell precision m6500 - i7-840 8GB RAM (6 available), 256 GB SSD running win 7 ult 64 sp1 Since installing SP1 (could be other things too) i have had an issue with outlook 2010 32bit. It opens minimized on the bottom of the screen. Reminders window opens fine. I can send an email, schedule an appt, but can not for the life of me get the main window to restore or maximize. i was thinking it might relate to a new VMware workstation 7.1.4 upgrade, but if i turn off all of the VMWare services, i have the same problem. The other thing i was working on was my windows mobile device center. I had smartphone issues (win mob 6.5) and blew out all of my partnerships and recreated a new partnership... Outlook will open fine in SafeMode. I created a brand new profile. I turned off the add-ins. i verified the icon didn't have special run checkboxes (properties of the Outlook icon). Any help is appreciated!!!Joe

Hi, I already installed the SP1 on my personal computer, but I have never experienced the situation like you. I assume that this issue is not caused by the SP1. I suggest to try Clean Boot to determine whether the 3rd application cause this. Please follow the article in the link below. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/331796 Also, you may try to repair the Office installation in the Programs and Features or post the thread at http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-us/category/officeitpro,visio2010,grooveserveritpro for help. Thanks. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Resolved: Outlook was working. the main outlook window was off the screen. I was able to pull it back and it worked out nicely!!! It's not related to the SP1 - i think. I have no idea why it shot off the main window of my laptop. It went off the left side. On the right side is another monitor, external. Thanks for your help! JoeJoe

turn off your secondary monitor, should be able to do this with th Fn key on a laptop. This should prevent this problem from reoccurring. And congrats! :-) Psyzzle Comp TIA A+ Cert.

funny thing is.... I did that - i powered off the monitor. all my other windows moved, but not outlook. The only thing i can figure is that things that shoot off in the opposite direction of my external monitor don't come back. Now that i think about it, periodically, outlook 2010 will take a new window that i open - typically an email message - and scrunch it up (technical term) placing it in upper left corner, but on my visible desktop. And now that i think about it more.... there are times i copy files to my desktop from explorer and when i look for it, it's not there. I have to open my desktop folder in explorer to find the file or folder i am looking for. I bet this is related... I must have a portion of my main desktop that is not visible... not too helpful. BTW - I used the Alt & SPACE and pressed the M key to bring it back to my visible side of my desktop. Joe
