Win 7 backup image works to a degree but with problems:
A few days after win 7 home premium install, I backup an image to a different (but always connected) hard drive, no issues. After some troubles with Windows live mail I decided to do a restore using that backup image. It appeared to work fine but after the final boot up into the win 7 OS I found out that Firefox and Thunderbird was there but didn't work. Comments or fixes !! I'm thinking that win 7 backup might not be that great.... I'll be looking at a 3rd party image backup program soon.

Because they are from third party publishers, we cannot guarantee that they will work in either scenario. As you can see all Windows 7 and other Microsoft programs works properly. The issue should be resolved after you reinstall the applications. If you want to find the root cause, I suggest you report the issue to the publishers of the applications. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Wow, you have a great profile but I guess it's always easy to blame others. It's hard to get all fuzzie inside about using win7 image backup when it doesn't restore properly, I just wanted to let someone know about this issue. One works and one doesn't !! Any program that suppose to image ----- should be able restore that image....right? Sounds like you're too far down the MS garden path to meltdown for my meager abilities. "O" and BTW: I also made a TI 2010 image after I did the win7 image (within the same hour ) and it's restore worked perfect. Have a Good Day!! If you dial a wrong number, you never get a busy signal.
