Win 7 and 2003 Server Shares
hello,
I have a problem with mapped drives on our Windows 7 PCs. The drive mappings to shares on a Windows Server 2003 map and work fine until the drives are not used for X amount of time. I have not been able to notice how long. Once some time passes the drive
mapping under My Computer gets a red X on it. There seems to be no way of waking up the drive except a reboot of the PC. I can't even browse to the unc path. At first I thought it might be a sleep/power saver mode on the PC but I have disabled that. I seem
to remember long ago, I think in XP but maybe before, this happned and there was a registry change to prevent the mapped drives from disconecting after a certain time. Anyone have an idea or seen this?
Thank you

I think this may be the fix, and sounds like what the fix was for earlier Windows versions if I remember correctly.

I will post tomorrow on whether it worked or not.
