Win 7 Ult XP Mode drive mapping issue
I have Windows 7 Ult 64-bit and run Windows XP mode. I mapped a network drive in Windows XP but when I tried to delete the drive mapping in XP, the drive mapping still appears and if I try to disconnect the drive, I do not get the drive letter showing in the list of drives to disconnect. When I try again to delete the drive (with a right click and select disconnect network drive) I get a message saying: "The network connection could not be found." But the drive still opens to the network path with no problem. When I try the command line: net use {drive letter} /delete, windows reports "The network connection could not be found." Symantec Endpoint Protection v11.0.6 is installed on Windows 7 but no AV is installed in the virtual XP machine. Any help will be appreciated.

How do you delete that drive? In Windows Explorer the option should be “Disconnect”.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Yes, I should have said disconnect (which I do later on). Sorry for the inconsistancy. If I right click the drive mapping and choose "disconnect" the message is: "The network conection could not be found."William Fearn
