Win 7/Win XP - Windows Explorer - User can't input the drive or the url directly in the explorer
The User in our Domain 2003/2008 can't input url's or drive letter in the windows explorer. The can use only the drives from the (left) list. I can't find any GPO rules with produced this limitation for the user. This problem is related to Win7x64Pro and WinXP32. My administration account with my OS Win7ProX64SP1 hasn't this problem. If there a case by Win7 of SP1 ? If yes, what is with WinXP ?

I have found the causer. It was a policy: User Configuration - Policies - Administrative Templates - Start Menu and Taskbar -> Remove Run menu from Start Menu = Enable Howerver, the causer is found. But the only solution for me in the moment is to "enable" or "not configure" the policy. This can't be as solution, because the User don't have permission to the RUN. Did any know a solution for the problem ?

Thanks I have found the solution for this case - GOP: 1. User Configuration - Policies - Administrative Templates - Start Menu and Taskbar -> Remove Run menu from Start Menu = not configured 2. User Configuration - Policies - Administrative Templates - System -> Prevent access to the command prompt = Enable. The user can now use the drive letter and url in the Windows explorer, but has no access to the CMD/Run. I think I have need the "Teddy principel".
