When I rt click on the desk top or any open space, I get the pop up with shortcut and many other items but no new folder option..I know this did work when I first installed win 7 as I made many new folders. Anyone, any ideas ??? TIA

Hi jerryb, A way you might be able to restore this:Log off of your account andlog into another account such as administrator.Find the registry key "HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder" and export it. Copythe fileto the desktop of your account. Log off that account and back on to your account. Double click on the .reg file you exported and add it to the registry.
