WinZip is missing from my Windows 7 Operating System
Psycho Psyc, Google shows that lots of folks have this problem. One solution is to right click a .zip file then 'Open with'. When that dialog opens, click Browse at the right bottom and select Windows Explorer. It is explorer.exe in the Windows folder. You will be able to open the .zip file with explorer then you can drag folders/files from that folder to another (extracted). When you right click a folder/file and go to 'Send to' the sub menu that opens should have 'Compressed (zipped) folder'. I think something happened to damage your .zip information in your Registry. Perhaps you had some utility installed at some time? Good luck and enjoy, John.

My PC does not recognize .zip files. when I click the file it asks me what to do and there is no WinZip, WinRar, or windows explorer option. How do I get it back without re installing the whole operating system or buying the retail WinZip. There is no way to get WinZip or WinRAR back because they were never in Windows 7 to start with. These have always been optional third party utilities that you must install if you want them! Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. All I know is that neither WinZip nor WinRAR have ever been part of the Windows installation. They have always been third party add-on utilities. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
