Hi Kalvin2314, 1st and 3rd issue: Unfortunately nothing can be done other than a repair install or full reinstall. If you have Windows XP reinstallation or full version disc, then you can perform a repair installation. If the disc doesn’t contain service pack, then you have to uninstall the Windows XP service packs installed on the system to perform Repair installation. If not, then a full reinstallation.Refer the links:http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/helpandsupport/learnmore/tips/doug92.mspx Regarding 2nd issue, it is controlled by Mother Board and not by Windows so you can check the Bios settings. You can check the system manufacturer manual or get in touch with the system manufacturer for information on how to do the changes in BIOS.Note: Modifying BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings incorrectly can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from booting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the configuring of BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Modifications of the settings are at your own risk. Regarding 4th issue:1. What exactly are you trying to do?2. What do you expect to happen and what is happening? Hope this information is helpful.Praseetha KMicrosoft Answers Support EngineerVisit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think. If this post helps to resolve your issue, please click the "Mark as Answer" or "Helpful" button at the top of this message. Why do you think you would like to uninstall SP3?What file is missing from what directory and where in the registry? What issues are you having that compel you to uninstall SP3, or do you just want to unisntall SP3 for the practice? If your stuff is switching back to PIO mode there is a reason for it and you probably have some kind of a hardware issue, an outdated driver, or incompatibility. These things are not impossible to figure out.You can read some about it here (it doesn't mean you have to DO anything yet) to get your creative juices flowing:http://support.microsoft.com/kb/817472If you want to see if you can fix things, you need to provide more information. Maybe someday the XP forums "Ask a question" dialog will ask these questions automatically when a new thread is started so I do not have to ask them every single time. It might even be possible to resolve an issue in a single reply when enough information is provided. Please provide additional information about your system:What is your system make and model?Describe your current antivirus and anti malware situation: McAfee, Symantec, Norton, Spybot, AVG, Avira!, MSE, Panda, Trend Micro, CA, Defender, ZoneAlarm, PC Tools, Comodo, etc.Does the afflicted system have a working CD/DVD drive?Do you have a genuine bootable XP installation CD (this is not the same as any Recovery CDs that came with your system)? What do you see that you don't think you should be seeing? What do you not see that you think you should be seeing?Fill in the blank: My system was working fine until this happened: ____________________________________________.If the system used to work properly, what do you think might have changed since the last time it did work properly? Please provide additional information about your system:Click Start, Run and in the box enter:msinfo32Click OK, and when the System Summary info appears, click Edit, Select All, Copy and then paste the information back here. There will be some personal information (like System Name and User Name), and whatever appears to be private information to you, just delete it from the pasted information.Do, or do not. There is no try.I decided to save up points for a new puppy instead of a pony!

Hi Kalvin,You can try one of the commandlines listed: http://kb.norsetech.net/windows-xp-service-pack-3-command-line-options/For your 4th problem Did you try turning your windows firewall off? Click Start -> Run & type -> compmgmt.msc -> scroll to Services and Applications (click + sign) -> Services. On right side locate "Windows Firewall/Internet Connection Sharing (ICS)" -> Double click on it Select -> Stop and from the Dowpdown select -> Disabled -> Click Ok and close Computer Management.
