I have tried all the things I have found on researching the internet. This has nothing to do w/msn messenger. Only WinUpdates. I've tried regsvr32 msxml3.dll in the cmd prompt. tried flushing dns. firewall set by group policy - and doesnt have the win-updates links blocked.any other ideas?Thanks

Windows Update has issues with non RTM copies of Windows Vista except RC1 copy, so you might not get your Windows Update working for it. Good luck

My version _is_ RTM however.That's the problem.

What version of Vista are you running, are you part of a domain ?

I'm running Win Vista Enterprise Version 6.0 (Build 6000).And yes, I'm part of a domain.I've checked out group policy - this isnt the issue. The other test pc's (using the same version I am) are able to. I didnt do anything different on the install... and havent played with any system files yet... Only been checking for other s/w compatibility & running the environment to get used to it. Havent actually began "breaking" it.Thanks! :)
