Win7 x64 - Set default network connection
I have this issue. On startup it takes a lot of time for my wifi network adapter to connect to the router. There is also virtuabox which has installed its virtual adapter.Sometimes I finally connect to my router but others not.I suspect windows trying to decide which of the two connections to use and sometimes it wrongly chooses the virtuabox one. I need to set my wifi connection as the default one.I followed the instruction of this article: (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc753219%28WS.10%29.aspx but I dont seem to find any option through windows, as if it was hidden. Then I followed this post: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-GB/w7itpronetworking/thread/aeba4df8-e2a3-4ac5-adf3-49e2bd349fb7 but I need to know what value should I put inside the reg key. Lets say default network connection is named as "Myconn". So what can I do so that I force windows to connect through my wifi connection by default? Thanks in advance.

Hi, The solutions for applying default network connections are only for VPN or Dial-up connection. They are not available for Wireless network adapter or wired network adapter. Since you have only one actual connection, there is no option to configure default network connection. To troubleshoot the network performance issue, I suggest you perform the following steps. 1. Upgrade the NIC driver to the latest one. 2. Temporarily disable Local Area Connection and VirtualBox connection, and then restart the machine to check whether the machine can access Internet quicker via Wireless network adapter. 3. Restart the machine in Safe Mode with Networking to check the result. Thanks, Novak
