Win7 loses sometimes GPO wireless setting
Hello
I have a domain with 3 windows2003r2 ent. English domain controlles and around 270 wireless clients running Windows 7 ent. dutch
Clients are identical machines.
The domain is domain/forest prept at 2008r2
Clients authenticate with their computeraccount on our Windows 2008r2 radius server to gain access to the hidden wireless network. The clients recieves the windows-7 based wlan profile by GPO settings(GPO is created and managed by Windows
2008r2 / 7 GPMC). the wireless network is based on a Cisco wlancontroller 4000 with 30 AP`s
Sometimes, a clients looses his wireless profile and can`t connect to the network. The clients has no wireless profiles at all at that moment.
The laptop sees a wireless network but not know the SSID (our network is hidden)
A machine with profile returns the following result with netsh
netsh>wlan show profiles
Profiles on interface Wireless network:
Grouppolicyprofiles (read only)
---------------------------------
All userprofiles : Corpnetwork
Userprofiles
-------------
<none>
netsh>
without a profile the client returns
netsh>wlan show profiles
Profiles on interface Wireless network:
Grouppolicyprofiles (read only)
---------------------------------
<none>
Userprofiles
-------------
<none>
netsh>
I have created a workaround by exporting the Grouppolicyprofile using netsh and importing it on the laptop with the problem
After import, this results in to the following
netsh>wlan show profiles
Profiles on interface Wireless network:
Grouppolicyprofiles (read only)
---------------------------------
<none>
Userprofiles
-------------
All usersprofiles : Corpnetwork
netsh>
The client directly connects to the corpnetwork. (without additonal action)
after Gpupdate /force the wlan userprofile is removed and returns on the Grouppolicyprofile. the user can use his computer without any problems
I have no idea how this problem accours, eventlogs doesn`t report errors, the netsh output is translated from dutch to english
The clients are used on a schoolcampus, the client is configured to not remember usercredentials and userprofiles are to be deleted after 2 days. (a client can have 60 different users with mandatory profiles), machines are uptodate with updates
Users are domain users and have no acces or rights to acces networkconnections/networkcenter
on a weekly-based, around the 5 machines returns to us with this problem

Temporary disable the antivirus and firewall. If the issue persists, please upgrade the driver for the wireless network adapter.Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Thanks for your reaction..
Forgot to mention the laptop specs.
Acer TrevelMate 8371 (2009) with a Intel 5100 AGN wifi-card.
We used 2 different drivers, the 2009 build-in driver of windows 7 and the driver of intel from July,14th 2010.
AV is Symantec Endpoint protection 11.0.5 AV only without firewall and MS firewall is turned off.
Found new drivers on Intel from November 2010, will try that.

I found that Acer does not provide Windows 7 supported drivers.

On Acer NL this serie supported by Windows 7

Notebook --> Travelmate --> Trabelmate 8371
On last friday, I got a 8372Z returned to me with the same problem, that machine uses a intel 6200 AGN wireless card
For the 8371 with the November 2010 driver, the first returned to me, I`m not sure if it is the same problem, it also could mean that my colleague forgot to add the profile and gpupdate.
