Win7 freezes at welcome screen, even in safe mode
My desktop was running as smooth as cream until yesterday. Win7 pro 32 bit freezes at welcome, even in safe mode. I tried booting with Win7 DVD to upgrade windows but it says to restart and then insert CD (does not work). System repair does not work either (it says a device is attached to ur PC, remove and try again).

Hi, Did you ever add any parts to the desktop? You may insert the Windows Installation Disk into the Optical Drive and perform Windows RE to restore the system to an earlier point for a test. If it does not work, check the desktop’s BIOS and minimize the parts for booting. Hope this helps. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Upgrades are problematic, you may need to get a new disk and install Windows fresh and then recover your files from the old one.My MVP is for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 IT, and I am getting increasingly good with Visual Studio.
