Win7 changes Icon Properties to UNC from Mapped Drive
I am running software that requires a mapped drive. I create a shotcut that points to a target and start directory with mapped drives. However when Win7 exucutes details show UNC path and software does not work. the server is a win2008R2. I can create the sortcut on the server. It functions on the server. If I browse to the shortcut and attempt to execute from a Win7 machine. The actual Icon properties now show UNC path and not the mapped drives info I had entered. Now Icon fails on the server as its properties have been changed. XP machines do not have this problem. I've tried chaning the shortcut on the server to run in XP mode and it works the same. I attempted to change the shortcut on the WIN7 to run in XP mode, but that option did not seem to open. I tried testing compatablility executable test as XP SP3, but when I try to accept this compatablility mode I WIN7 responds something like improper software and will not set to run in XP mode. Any ideas what causes this? Thanks in advance
