Win7 cannot access password-protected win98 shared folders
Hello. I can currently access from win7 shared folders from win98. But when I password-protect these folders in win98, win7 says "the specified network password is not correct". I tried using another account which is the admin account and tried using both the local computer and remote computer passwords, to no avail. But if i access the shared folders from XP using the shared folder's password, it works. I'm wondering why Win7 does not recognize these passwords. I want to use this technique to password-protect student's shared folder from a data server which uses win98. I'm using win98 because it has the feature to password protect shared folders which i can't do in xp or win7. Thanks in advance.

Hi, According to the error message, that seem the password is not correct. Please check the keyboard is well worked. Also you can use tablet keyboard on Windows 7 and use that to input password for test. Also you can add a credential in Windows 7 to access the share folder. Note: Windows 98 is not supported any more. I cannot guarantee that this scenario will work. Thank you for your understanding.
