Problem with the restore image.
System restore is hit and miss in my experience.
If its a problem, insert your Windows DVD and boot it up. Select the repair option when prompted.

Are you talking about restoring from a restore point or from a system image?
Go to an elevated command prompt.
Run following command:
SFC /SCANNOW
Oh yes, elevated command prompt means to run CMD.EXE with administrative privileges.
WIN |type CMD.EXE | DO NOT HIT ENTER | RIGHT-CLICK on CMD.EXE in the resulting list | click on Run as Administrator
Try agian. Win Win 7 I've had zero problems with restoring to a previous restore point and also zero problems reinstalling from a system image backup, but I have a knack for keeping it simple and following directions to the letter.
If still no success, disable your anti-virus software, unless you are using Microsoft Security Essentials.
Try again.
Still no luck? Run CleanMgr.EXE and try again.

Kody,
Go to an elevated command prompt.
elevated command prompt means to run CMD.EXE with administrative privileges.
WIN |type CMD.EXE | DO NOT HIT ENTER | RIGHT-CLICK on CMD.EXE in the resulting list | click on Run as Administrator
when you get the C:\windows\system32> prompt, type following:
SFC /SCANNOW
and hit the ENTER key
You will see a message saying:
Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.
Beginning verification phase of system scan.
next line will show what % of system scan has been completed.
IF, and only IF, all went well you will see:
Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.
If you did not get that msg then, then shutdown your computer, disconnect the computer from your network and run SFC /Scannow again.
Let me know if you get that "did not find any integrity violations." msg.
