Win7 Wireless Preauth 802.1x Stops working after a restart.
Laptop is running Windows 7 Ent SP1, Intel wireless card (latest driver and ProSet). I only installed the "Enterprise Software" and driver from the proset. I now have Windows managing the wireless including the prelogon. And it works awesome with the exception of: After a restart it will not prelogon/preauthenticate. I will have to logon with a cached account to get in. After that I can log off and anyone can log on. This will work perfectly until I restart. The first account that logs on following a restart will once again have to be a cached account. Does anyone know why the preauth would not work on the first login? Wireless service doesn't start yet perhaps? Know of any way to get past this or solve it?

In laptops/netbooks/notebooks I prefer drivers from computer vendor. Address computer vendor support forum. The reason is that what looks like Intel may be adapted to vendors need. Regards Milos

Hi, Add to Milos, please also check whether the Startup type of WLAN AutoConfig Service is Automatic. If not, please change it and see how it works. Hope this helps. Jeremy Wu TechNet Community Support

I just wanted to update this. I gave incorrect information. The image I was using was Win7. I have since imaged these with Win7 Ent (N) - SP1. Miraculously, it works exactly as it should! I appreciate everyone taking the time to try to help with the solution!
